FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What exactly does DMP do?

We take your sports footage and edit it together to make a professional recruiting highlight video from the footage that you already have. You can pretty much send us footage with an online link from any source because as long as we can access the footage, we can use it to create the video. Additionally, you can email video files in for us to use in the recruiting video. When you send in the footage, tell us what parts of the video that you would like to use so that we can integrate those into your recruiting video.

Upon finishing the video, we will send you the video to ensure that you are satisfied with the video and to allow for any minor edit requests to be added. Once we finalize the video, we will send you the link to the finished video so that you can post that on social media and other recruiting websites, as well as giving you the ability to share it with coaches and recruiters.

How does this process work?

First, you would purchase your recruiting/highlight video package from our website.

Then, you will receive a purchase confirmation email and a link to fill out the accompanying player information form. The necessary information on the form includes and has options for name, team (high school and/or travel), graduating class, GPA, ACT/SAT scores, position(s), stats, measurables (vertical, 40 time, velocity/exit velocity, etc.) and any other information that you would want to include at the end of the video, such as email or phone number.

After you complete the form, the next step is to include the footage, which as long as it is viewable through any source/file type, we can use. We ask that you include the times of videos that you want us to use so that we can make the video as close to what you want as possible. Additionally, sending long videos without the times stated to use will delay the process in you getting your completed video.

After these three steps have been completed, we will make the video and have it finished within seven to ten business days. We also offer rush delivery of 24-48 hours for those who need the video as soon as possible.

What if I already have a recruiting video that I have already created? Can DMP use that footage and/or improve the quality of the video?

We absolutely can do so. We can use your current highlight or recruiting video in the creation of another video, as well as simply improving the overall quality of the video by enhancing transitions, editing out noise or distracting parts of the video, highlighting you, adding slow motion replay, etc., so we definitely have you covered in that regard.

How long does it take to make the video?

Upon receiving the footage and the times to use for the video, we will finish your video in seven to ten business days. If you need it sooner, you can select the rushed delivery option for an additional fee.

How does DMP edit the videos?

We use Adobe Premiere Pro, which allows us to utilize a 100% customized HD editing process. This editing software is similar to what many Hollywood films use in their initial editing process. Furthermore, there is no AI involved, but rather us going through and manually editing each video, reviewing the final copy and then sending it to you.

Can DMP zoom in on the footage that might be too far away and does DMP do any other editing effects?

Yes, we are able to tinker with the footage so that it’s clearer as to what has happened during the play when the initial footage is too far out. Additionally, we can help to cover up bad camera and color saturation by working to center the footage as much as possible. Another edit that we make is blurring out watermark logos from footage provided by other providers so that we can help make your video look better. Our top priority is to provide the best video possible with the footage we are given, so we will go above and beyond to ensure that our editing process cleans up any bad footage and provides you with a product that surpasses your expectations.

Is there any sound in the videos and can I pick the music?

We intentionally mute the sound from the footage because from our experience, coaches and recruiters are not interested in the sound and really just want to see you at your full potential. Oftentimes crowd noise can detract from the quality of the video and take the viewers attention away from you due to crowd noise, profanity and other distractions.

As for music, we use royalty-free instrumental music for those that want sound on their video, but as we have come to realize, most coaches and recruiters will mute the sound anyway.

Can I cut my highlights into clips and send those to DMP to lower costs?

No, this will not lower costs and can more than likely have an adverse effect. We have all too often seen people try to do this and end up sending clips that are too short, have low quality or are completely unusable, so please resist the urge to do so. We can still incorporate this footage if you have already done so, but we strongly recommend that you do not do this, and instead let us handle the editing of your raw footage as that is what we specialize in.

Can I make editions/edits to my video in the future?

ABSOLUTELY! We encourage our past customers to add more footage to their videos as they get more footage and clips to add, as well as progressing in their athletic careers. The entire point of a recruiting video is to showcase yourself in the best way possible, so if you have gotten bigger, stronger and faster, there is no reason to show a video of yourself from a few months ago when you are a much better prospect in the present day.

You will not have to pay for a totally new video, but rather be billed at $40/hour for the additions and/or edits in creating the new video. Simply email us and we will give you an estimate before adding the new footage and/or removing old footage from your original video.

Is the finished recruiting video made public?

No, we send you the video through an “unlisted” link, which means that only people with the link can see the video with no password required. All you have to do is email the link to anyone that you want to be able to view the video. Furthermore, the “unlisted” link means that the video will not be searchable on YouTube. If you would like your video to be made public on YouTube please let us know and we will accommodate that. If you give us permission to use the video for marketing purposes, small sections of the video may be featured on our marketing materials, website, or social media accounts.

How long are the finished videos?

The finished videos will be the length stated in the package. While a five to six minute video may not have five minutes of raw footage, the video will be at least five minutes because the slow motion replays highlighting some of your best plays or footage will be worth showing again in slow motion.

Why are the packages based on time?

We have found that basing the packages on time rather than plays is beneficial for the quality of the video because coaches do not need to see you run the last fifty yards in the open field ten times. You would be better off showcasing some technique such as footwork, hand position, etc. or showcasing pure athletic abilities to coaches because scoring a few touchdowns, striking batters out or hitting home runs does not necessarily show how you will translate at the next level and will not help you stand out, as coaches and recruiters across the country receive countless videos of that stuff.

What type of footage do you recommend using in the videos?

We recommend using a variety of game footage, one on one footage, footage showing your measurables and athletic ability. Simply put, running through a defense or striking a batter out is not something that necessarily stands out. Proving that you run a 4.5 40-yard or you throw 90 mph or you bench 315lbs for example is more powerful than saying you do and having no proof of it. Simply put, proving these measurables will make coaches and recruiters more interested in you and more likely to invite you for a visit or come see you play because they now know you have the skills to play at the next level, as opposed to you looking good against inferior competition.

What if I play multiple sports? Do I have to pay for multiple videos?

No, after purchasing your first video, reach out to us at the same email you received your order confirmation from, and we can quote you a cost for videos including any additional sports.
